One of these things is not like the other…
Outside the South, this madness is gaining very little traction, and remains a fringe conspiracy theory. Within the South, it’s practically mainstream.
I declare a national facepalm.

Dear The South,
I love and miss you. I never thought I’d say that! I really didn’t. I also never thought I’d be such a defender of the South but I guess that’s what living amongst Yankees does to you.
And then things like this appear and it just reinforces everyone else’s beliefs that the South is full of half-retarded bible-thumping rednecks AND IT’S NOT, I SWEAR IT’S NOT. PEOPLE UP HERE ARE JUST AS BAD. HEY REMEMBER ALL OF THOSE SUPER RACIST SARAH PALIN RALLIES? THOSE WERE IN PENNSYVLANIA, NOT THE SOUTH!
Sigh,
Bethany
well, if racism is everywhere (and it is), it’s a constant in the poll and the results are really saying that about half of the people polled in the south have little to no common sense. because, sorry, anyone that is having serious doubts about his birthplace doesn’t have much (any?) common sense. and that doesn’t help their image out any, either.
but i am actually a little bit surprised at the midwest statistics, based on personal experience, anyway.
