The International Monetary Fund canceled Haiti’s $268 million debt on Wednesday and approved a new loan worth $60 million to increase international reserves in Haiti, which was devastated by an earthquake in January. The fund said the new loan, which carries no interest until the end of 2011 and low rates after that, was not intended to add more debt but to help Haiti manage any volatility that could arise from large amounts of aid going into the country.

aw, how generous of the IMF. giving them another loan they won’t be able to pay back so the IMF/western governments can control their country for years to come! oh, and devalue their currency, crush their health system, destroy their environment…maybe if they’re really lucky, they’ll install a dictator, too!
also: lol at “$60 million…low interest rates…not intended to add more debt”. oh? this sounds like the same scam chase bank tries to pull when they want me to get another credit card with them to pay off my first credit card.
