Prospect Park is so far from Greenpoint that it is almost valueless to our people; and besides the distance, the fact that to go to it, or to any other place or object in the city, we are obliged to pass through such dirty streets and to encounter such disagreeable sights and offensive smells, that it is like suffering martyrdom to reach heaven, and consequently very few of us ever make the attempt.
